The barriers to the acceptance and uptake of innovative wastewater technologies from both stakeholders and urban citizens were at the forefront of the synergy and academy-industry collaboration between the Italian industrial partner REDINN and the Queens Belfast University.

Mr. Leonardo Piccinetti and Ms. Donatella Santoro transferred knowledge to accelerate innovation in the municipal wastewater sector to QUB, represented by Dr. Alberto Longo and Dr. Simone Cerroni. REDINN also presented related insights from H2020 Blucities and FP7 BEWATER projects where citizen engagements played a key role on science interaction in urban water issue as well as case studies analysed with CitiBlueprints indicators. An exchange of views also took place on the European Water Prices in view of preparing the taxation study.
